Let’s talk about sex baby. In between grocery shopping, a busy schedule, getting our bodies back after a new little one and being just plain old tired.. there isn’t much thought going into what happens in the boudoir. Am I right here folks? Parents, this is the person you want to talk to right now. Tali is an expert in her field of sex therapy and I assure you, you will learn a thing or two to help you get back into the right state of mind and body. I truly had a blast photographing Tali’s headshots in a relaxed and lifestyle manner while keeping her portraits personable, fashion forward and professional. We spent some time in central Austin in and around south congress exploring and having fun!

How did you decide on the name of your business?

I went with my name so that the internet searches would be more concise and people wouldn’t need to remember my business name.

How long has your business been around?
It will be 2 years this September, 5th!
Tell us more about your product/business and how you developed the concept behind it:

I provide sex therapy and gender therapy to the Austin area. I have been practicing for 5 years and in private practice for almost 2 years. I am a mom of two children and one dog. I specialize in relationships that need a sexual makeover, individual sexual concerns such as vaginismis, erectile issues and premature ejaculation, sexual trauma, LGBT issues, gender questions and exploration, non-traditional relationships (poly, asexual, BDSM, etc). I believe in a sex-positive world and will not shame anyone for their sexual past, present or future. Part of my practice also serves parents. I run support groups for moms and offer counseling tailored towards the difficulties new parents face in their relationship.

What makes your business so unique?

I am not afraid of talking about sex and asking the difficult questions. There really is no silly or stupid question when it comes to sex, gender and exploration. I am warm hearted, open and approachable. The passion I have towards watching and helping my clients achieve happiness and success is what makes me such a great therapist & advocate.

Do you have a storefront? Do you work from home?

Yes, an office. 3160 Bee Caves Rd. #300 78746

How do you balance it all?

My partner and I have alternating schedules and we use a sitter when there is an overlap. I try to be home with my children as much as I can when I am not working, but also know that sometimes you need “office time” to get work done. I also take off from work when I’m feeling overwhelmed and drained as a couple. Date nights are very important, even if it’s just going to see a movie or going to the park. And lastly, I make intimacy and sex a priority, even if I am tired and not in the mood. It’s what keeps my partner going and positive and it’s the least I can do with everything he does for me and his children.

What is one piece of advice you can give to any mom starting their business?

Just jump and take the risk. There is never going to be a “right” time. Also, find a mentor who does what you do and ask for help and guidance. It’s okay to admit that you don’t know it all and need help.

What is the best aspect about having your own business?

Making my own timetable and doing the work that I want to do.

What is the part you struggle with the most in your business?

Childcare can be tricky. And sometimes being in business all by yourself is lonely. That’s why it’s important to be a part of business groups and find a mentor. It’s also stressful that the sole person responsible is you. That can be scary if I think about it too hard. ;)
