We love people. Especially if those people are like the Boyd family! We had a wonderful time with this precious threesome, and I think we all will cherish the memories we made in the session. Our favorite place to do family shoots is outdoors, especially since the weather has been so charming. The Boyd’s looked just perfect out in the glorious sunshine, and the colors were marvelous. We love capturing the delight that a couple has for each other, and the Mr. and Mrs. made us love it all the more. And I must say the entire family has gorgeous hair and rightfully so. Athena (I like to refer to her as a “soul mama”) is the CEO of several salons in the Austin area and she made sure to come sporting their best tresses. And Areia, such a sweet and darling little girl seemed like she was at home in front of the camera, which made for such a special photo session.
Everything about this family session was perfect, especially the location. The heat of the day was tempered by the wet sandbank, and the spots of green made for a great overall palette. Location is everything for us, as we believe the atmosphere of a photo greatly impacts the quality. Sure, you could have the most wonderful subjects for your pictures (and we definitely did!), but if the overall feel seems off, it’ll leave you wanting more. We try to match up places to personalities, and the Boyd’s loved the area we settled on which was Mckinney Falls State Park. Sometimes, the weather will surprise us, but we love the challenge of rolling with the punches when it does. The weather was glorious in the Boyd’s session, and it made for a warm and charming set of photos.
All in all, one of the most important aspects of our job is showcasing the beautiful and true love that exists within a family. The Boyd’s are the perfect example of this sort of love, and the photos that came out of their session is a gorgeous representation of that. There’s a special look that Mr. will get in his eyes, one of pure joy when he catches those big smiles on his girls’ faces. And the knowing looks that they give him back are some of the most wonderful sights you’ll ever see. It’s a special sort of affection that you won’t find anywhere else, one that’s a joy and an inspiration to witness.
It was such a wonderful time with the Boyd family and thankfully our journey working together doesn’t end here because as a part of the Family plan, this is the first of many more shoots to come! The best part of our job is spending our day with families like this one, and we feel blessed with every chance we get. We wish the Boyd’s every joy and happiness in life, they deserve it!
