My long-standing career as a motherhood and family photographer since 2009 initially opened the doors to my second venture, a brick and mortar studio share based in Austin, Texas- Cityhouse Collective opened in 2019. Later came the big move to the mid south. We purchased a sweet little home and seemingly it felt like the right time to document and share on Primitive and Proper, an account diary designed to document all of the progress and a few life updates. From there came the podcast, All The Things- dedicated to motherhood entrepreneurship and now my most recent project; a dinner party community for women called The Supper Society. Peppered into all of that I’ve mentored other industry creatives and parents alike both in business and the art of everyday childhood photography.
While I have created a life by design all these years, my most proudest moments will always be the memories made at home with my family. I am a mama of three and currently reside in Tennessee with my husband (and best friend) of over 21 years. Despite my constant appetite for creative freedom as a business owner, I fully step into my role as a homemaker as well. I enjoy creating cozy spaces, making from scratch meals and planting beauty and sustenance in my small kitchen garden. Home is truly my happy place and there has been nothing better than being able to do what I love while caring for the people that I love.
