Lifestyle sessions are some of our favorites. They provide such a unique glimpse into the lives of the some of the sweetest people around, and that was true for our session with the lovely Martinez family! This family of four signed up for their newborn photo shoot with us after we handled their maternity session, and we were beyond excited to spend some time with them again for their first session in their baby plan! If you’ve known us a while, you know how much we love light, so of course we fell in love with the natural light that the Martinez’s home offered us, and we used it to our advantage to take some gorgeous pictures of a beautiful family. A lifestyle session means we follow the family around their home, witnessing their normal way of life and capturing the subtle and special moments that would otherwise slip by unnoticed. Also, we love keeping newborn sessions simple and follow our baby led posing format even in a lifestyle session to ensure natural and timeless images that can be cherished for years to come.
Mom and dad are such fun people, making the most of each moment with their happy daughter and their wonderful newborn. We loved including their pup too, snapping some fun pictures where dad and mom were on the couch cradling their loved ones. The point of a lifestyle shoot is to simply to act as spectators, so our main focus was centered on capturing the Martinez family’s way of life as it was. Their home was beautiful, and big sister was so excited to be photographed; there wasn’t a dull moment! From jumping on the bed, to playing with their pets, to relaxing together as a family, we captured the joyful spirit of their family, in an authentic way.
It’s this sort of authenticity that we always strive to capture in our sessions, whether it’s a lifestyle session, a motherhood session, maternity session or anything in between. We make a point of capturing the unique personalities of everyone in our pictures, especially the special personality a family has as they interact with each other. That’s what will outlast everything else, and a family session like this one is a testament to the forever love a family shares. The Martinez family has this love, and loves to show it!
