I have a lot of feelings about motherhood and having it captured. Even more this year than the last. Creating these portraits aren’t so much about the pretty frocks and twirly dress moments we might have. It’s about showing up and being present. It’s about feeling beautiful, wanted, loved. It’s about opening the door for the quiet moments to become loud. And more than anything, it’s about sharing a peice of our legacy and story. Having professional portraits tells another part of your story as seen through a third party. It is how I see you and how I interpret the dynamic you have with your babies. And while the photos of taken on the phones of our spouses, families, partners and friends will always mean something special, seeing yourself in an artfully candid way can be empowering and beautiful. When we set the stage in the studio, make the process easy and remove the layers that make getting out of the house sometimes stressful… it will unequivocally give us some breathing room to allow for nurturing to show. While these speciality sessions are shorter than my average offerings, they are immensly rich in heart and soul. Just 30 minutes on this day will be all we need to document how you feel in that moment. Be it subtle, joyful or busy.. this is it.. this is exactly your season right now. Next year or even tomorrow for that matter, when your lost in the chaos of motherhood at home and your comfy yoga pants have made their next appearance- things will be different.
