Project 52 // Week 2 // Candid
This next image almost made the “candid” cut but I opted for the image above instead. Two reasons. The first one was that voice in my head telling me to make this project a certain way and not post the image with my daughter because I had already posted an image of her last week. I decided to first and foremost let go of any rules or expectations I had when choosing an image. If I had 5 or 10 images in a row to share with one particular child in them then that’s just what it will be if it comes to it. Reason number 2: I felt the top was more candid to me personally. It was a moment that happened where they were completely camera unaware at the time. In the image below, once I snagged my camera out he began to “act”. While you can’t really tell.. I can feel it still. My intent through this project is to create images that are more real and more un-intentional. This would have been titled “Greater Heights”.
