There’s nothing prettier than a woman proud of who she is. Mrs. Stubbs is one of the prettiest, and with her handsome husband they make quite a wonderful pair! We’ve known them for some time now, even before they knew they were expecting; we did a holiday shoot for them a while back, when the only child they had was their precious dog. During the session, she was positive that she would be calling soon for a maternity session, which was a wonderful surprise to us, especially because we had no idea that she was expecting! But lo and behold, soon after the holiday shoot they had booked a pregnancy announcement and maternity session through our Baby’s First Year plan.
For their maternity session, we visited Addison Grove in Austin, TX, for its beautiful trees and incredible landscape. It was perfect to showcase this lovely couple, and the pops of green and pink in the trees played off well against the white palette that made up the Stubbs’ wardrobe. Motherhood photography is definitely one of our absolute favorites, if for nothing else than capturing the excitement and joy that an expecting family has. This family was a treasure to work with, lighting up their photos with their electric smiles and giddiness, and we fell in love with them instantly! They had a hybrid session, where we used both digital and film to capture them; we have a passion for film photography, and it looked fantastic in this shoot.
We had the session in the morning, so we had plenty of gorgeous light to work with for our soft palette. We hadn’t planned on doing a boudoir maternity session, but had come prepared for one just in case. It took a bit of convincing, but she ended up going for it, and in the end these photos became her favorites! Mrs. Stubbs was a bit hesitant for it at first because she, like many mothers during maternity, didn’t feel entirely comfortable in her own skin. Part of our mission as motherhood photographers is to create an atmosphere where a mother can feel truly beautiful, special, and comfortable in their session, and come away from it with a pride and joy in who they are as moms – baby bellies and all. It’s a passion of ours to capture you the way you want to be seen, and you can see this passion in these special maternity photos, which showcase Mrs. Stubbs’ radiant beauty and love for her child.
Since this maternity session, the Stubbs’ have welcomed their new child, and we’ve already done a fresh 48 and a lifestyle newborn session; we’re even fast approaching their lovely baby’s six month session! These shoots are a part of our Baby’s First Year Collection, and the Stubbs have been capturing each milestone in their family’s life in the most wonderful way possible.
