I’m so happy to bring back Wall Worthy Wednesday’s once per month and this time I am featuring a behind the scenes of a client wall gallery. There are two reasons why I am so stoked about his post.
1. I am finally getting a chance to feature this amazing family on Friday. I feel like we have worked together so much now, that they may as well should have just adopted me. I don’t think there is any other way to have a meaningful relationship with your clients than the way I have been blessed with the last few years.
2. Have to give myself a pat on the back for documenting (and saving) at least one full behind the scenes wall gallery. I have created so many collections and it dawned upon me a few months before I left that I should start capturing before and afters.. when I could remember… (DOPE!)
Now I don’t want to keep you waiting so let’s have a little tour of what we did for the D family….
Once a session is completed and before the Portrait Viewing appointment I love putting a few of my personal favorites together to give my families an idea of what we can do. Narrowing down can be quite the task, so this helps to give a starting point. For the D family there were some images that immediately jumped out at me so I created a few samples of how they would look using some of our signature wall galleries.
While at the portrait viewing, I use a super awesome tool that helps us to REALLY get an idea of how things will look to scale. I simply take a photo of their wall and then the magic begins.
With the D family, we made one small image change but otherwise they loved everything as it was, and off went their order almost instantly to the lab.
And Wala!… happy faces fills my photographers heart with joy.
Creating a story on your walls (or in a book) is just so much more valuable than having your images collect cyber space dust. I mean really, if I am being honest here, you spend so much time getting your hair and makeup done, coordinating the kids outfits, begging the hubby to be on his best behavior, planning the perfect location and then have an amazing few hours documenting the love in your family to then what? Hope eventually that you’ll have some time to run to Hobby Lobby or Michaels to pick up frames that mind you… aren’t exactly cheap if your going for something that “looks” custom. And the thought of sitting down after work to scour pinterest for ideas seems so daunting, only to drag on long enough the the point where you just never got around to it weeks maybe even years later. This is why I offer a full service for all of my clients. I know the headache, I understand the headache and my job is to remedy that because if I don’t, my job is not done. Thanks to the D Family for allowing me to tag along on their amazing journey. You will be seeing a lot more of them soon so stay tuned!
They loved the ideas already, and after choosing favorites we started looking for some walls to fill.
